Being present where children are forgotten.
After many years of war and political and social instability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, children and the most vulnerable people carry a disproportionate share of the burden. Some are abandoned near roads, markets, dumps or other dangerous places. Amour du Prochain works to provide them with care, protection and support.

Dear friends, partners and visitors,
It is with gratitude that I welcome you to the website of AMOUR DU PROCHAIN, A.S.B.L. Our commitment grew from a simple conviction: we may not be able to respond to every need, but we can choose to start somewhere and take concrete action for the people we encounter.
Since our Care Centre in Kinshasa began operating in 2018, we have worked to provide children in vulnerable situations with a safe environment, care, education and genuine prospects for the future. The journey has required perseverance, but it has also enabled us to reach important milestones, including establishing the Centre on its own permanent site.
Today, our responsibility is to strengthen what has been built and develop sustainable solutions. The Water Project is one of our current priorities: it is intended to improve living conditions, hygiene and the daily operation of the Centre, with a community reach where the capacity of the system allows.
We know that this work cannot grow sustainably in isolation. We therefore seek to build partnerships based on trust, transparency and accountability with all those who share our concern for the future of children and the development of the environment in which they grow.

Our history
Amour du Prochain was founded in 2016. The Centre has been operating since 2018 and has since moved to its permanent site in Mont-Ngafula, Kinshasa.
